Meet Jenny: A Gentle Mother-To-Be

Sweet Jenny is the embodiment of hope and resilience. This beautiful standard donkey is a mother-to-be, and her journey to us was a race against time to protect two precious lives.

Jenny's story is one of community and urgent action. She is one of fifteen burros rescued by All Seated in a Barn directly from a kill pen auction in Bowie, Texas. After a month in quarantine, she was cared for at the Return to Freedom sanctuary. Recognizing that Jenny was seven months pregnant, the team at Return to Freedom reached out to Rancho Burro. She was among the first trio urgently brought to our sanctuary to ensure she receives the specialized care needed for her and her unborn foal.

Now safely settled into her forever home, Jenny is finally able to relax. Her gentle and trusting nature shines through, and she seeks out affection with a quiet confidence. She is part of a deeply bonded trio, looking to her brave miniature donkey friend, Wookie, for reassurance. Jenny represents the future, a new generation that will only ever know kindness.
