Polly, a 27 year old donkey, came to live with us with her buddy Teddy. Their owner had passed and there was no one willing to take in two donkeys. Polly has some neurological issues as well as being very sight challenged. After Polly came to live here with us I asked my vet, David Jensen, who is an ophthalmologist, to test her eyes, and found out she is totally blind in her left eye with partial vision in her right eye. Also, she arrived with hooves that had not been trimmed in almost two years, and we are still in the process of growing out some healthy hoofs as they were very deformed.

With all of her challenges, Polly gets around pretty well and she makes trips in to visit me about every 10 minutes if I am out by the stalls. She is very snuggly and sweet and steals the hearts of visitors.
