Your tax-deductible donation for a private group tour directly funds the essential care of our rescued donkeys, including their feed, pasture, and sanctuary upkeep, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical needs.
During our exclusive, staff-led tour (approx. 1 hour), you will get a behind-the-scenes look at our work. Our team will share powerful rescue stories and educate you on donkey welfare, responsible ownership, and proper care. You will have the opportunity to observe the herd’s heartwarming interactions and connect safely with the donkeys under our guidance in an experience that fosters compassion.

Please Note:
• Rancho Burro is a private sanctuary and is not open to the public.
• All tours are by appointment only.
• For the safety of our guests and animals, children under the age of 8 are not permitted on tours.
• Donation & Refund Policy: Tour donations are non-refundable since this is a donation-based event, but if you need to reschedule—or if Rancho Burro must cancel due to weather or a veterinary emergency—we will reach out or you can contact us by phone or email to arrange a new visit date
#2 - Tour Guidelines and Rules:
Guided Supervision & Boundaries
Stay with guide: A Rancho Burro team member will accompany your group at all times; no wandering independently.
Respect enclosures: Do not open gates or enter animal areas unless explicitly instructed.
Donkey Interaction & Safety
Let them approach: Do not grab, reach for, or chase donkeys. Let them come to you.
Protect ears: Never touch or grab a donkey’s ears.
Stay aware: Donkeys explore with their mouths—stay attentive to avoid accidental nibbles.
No food or feeding: No feeding allowed. Keep all food and strong-smelling items off your person.
Calm Environment
Move slowly: No running; use calm, gentle movements.
Keep noise low: No yelling or loud voices.
Silence phones: Keep phones on silent and refrain from taking calls during the tour.
Attire & Personal Items
Closed-toe shoes: Required for participation.
Dress for weather: Bring a hat, coat, or appropriate outerwear.
Secure loose items: Secure jewelry, dangling clothing, or bags to prevent curious donkeys from grabbing them.
Service Animals & Pets
No pets: Pets are strictly prohibited.
Service animals: Restricted from direct donkey contact areas for safety; leaving them at home is strongly recommended.
Photos & Questions
Photos welcome: Photos and videos are encouraged!
Ask questions: Feel free to ask anything about our sanctuary and donkeys.
